Yes, on every plan including Free. Switch on certificate expiry alerts for any monitor and we warn you once the TLS certificate is within 21 days of expiry. You get one alert per certificate, not a daily nag — renewing issues a new certificate, which resets it. It's opt-in per monitor rather than automatic, so a monitor pointed at a host you don't control doesn't nag you about someone else's certificate.
Yes, on every plan including Free. Alongside the status code you can assert on a JSONPath expression against a JSON body, a response header, or text anywhere in the body — and set the HTTP method, request headers, request body and basic auth. So "200 OK but the JSON says status: degraded" counts as down, which is usually the failure you actually care about.
Checking is one-off: you search for 'Discord' and see if it's down right now. Monitoring is continuous: we probe your site every 5 min (free) or every 60 seconds (paid) and email you when the status flips.
Partly — and you can try it free. Anyone can run a 5-region speed preview (US East, US West, EU/London, Tokyo, Hong Kong) on the speed-test page — a few checks a day, no account needed — to see reachability and round-trip latency from each region. Starter and Growth raise that daily limit and add the full regional reachability panel (DNS IP + latency divergence per region) for your own domains. The DNS/TCP/TLS/TTFB phase breakdown still runs from one serverless region for every check.
Cancel any time from Dashboard → Settings → Manage billing (the Stripe portal). You keep paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for, then the account moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted: your check history stays, your oldest monitor keeps running on the Free cadence (5-minute checks), and monitors beyond the Free limit of 1 are paused, not removed.
Starter's 7-day trial converts to a paid subscription on day 7 — that's the first time your card is charged. Cancel before then (same billing portal) and you're never charged: the account simply returns to the Free plan, with history kept and extra monitors paused as above.
Honestly: UptimeRobot gives you far more free monitors than we do — if you just need many URLs pinged cheaply, it's a fine choice. What we do differently is depth per monitor and context around it: keyword / status-code / JSON assertions and TLS expiry alerts on every plan, multi-region reachability on paid plans, and — because the same system runs the public outage tracker — upstream attribution: when your site is unreachable while Cloudflare or AWS is having an incident, your dashboard says so, instead of just 'down'.
